The Systems Administrator role is a generalist role which supports the carsales network systems and infrastructure on a day to day basis in a positive and constructive manner. This can often be a busy, dynamic yet challenging position! The Systems Administration team work closely to provide the business with onsite coverage between the hours of 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. The successful incumbent will be rostered within these hours to ensure coverage within the team at all times. This position also requires some after hours and on-call support will be required from time to time to fulfil the requirements of this position.
What You’ll Do
Server and Infrastructure Management:
Accurately update the support ticketing application in a timely manner
Provide advice on hardware and software products
Diagnose and repair computer and network hardware, escalate as required, to manager, vendor or to othwr members of the Sys-Admin team.
Resolve issues in a timely manner
Provide a positive customer experience
Prioritization of tasks
Provide solutions that are both economical to the business and in line with company culture and budget
Support and Maintenance:
Identify potential problem areas and define and institute corrective measures
Maintaining systems to ensure accurate data
Execution of business procedures to ensure systems are kept up to date
Perform Installation of servers and software as required
Support of telecommunications devices within the business working with carriers as required to ensure satisfactory outcomes
Support of network and storage devices within the business and working with vendors as required to ensure satisfactory outcomes
Document and maintain operational procedures
Provide support to operations and development teams
Other:
Ensure the Infrastructure team provides accurate, positive and timely support to the business
Prioritization and communication of priorities in regard to task completion for the team
Provide solutions that are both economical to the business and in line with company culture and budgets.
Experience and Qualifications
A tertiary qualification in computers or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education or training
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a systems administration role
Extensive knowledge of server operating systems such as Windows, Linux and OSx
Detailed Knowledge of Exchange and Microsoft based communication platforms
Detailed Knowledge of Active Directory and group policies
Extensive knowledge of Storage Area Networks
Extensive knowledge of backup platforms such as Commvault
Experience in virtual compute environments, Vmware, HyperV, Open Stack
Experience in cloud computing (AWS/Azure)
Managing and troubleshooting TCP/IP networks in a LAN and WAN environment
High level of administrative and organisational skills including the ability to prioritise workload in a busy IT environment
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Well-developed communication skills
Able to write clean and precise documentation, with easy step-by-step instructions

Provide communications regarding Toolkit outages and impacts to all relevant stakeholders/users
Investigate and raise system issues/trends with relevant IT vendors and IT business for restoration
Build effective relationships with the customer and stakeholder groups to allow timely delivery of customer services.
We are looking for candidates with the below qualifications and experience:
We would expect individuals to operate independently and manage programs/projects of work, driving business improvements.
Exposure to CSD Field environment and processes.
Bachelor Degree in a relevant field (IT) would be highly regarded
Knowledge of Toolkit / Connect interfaces and upgrades and DB Systems understanding and integration (mandatory)
Familiarity with mobility and Mobile Phone / Tablet deployment and systems interfaces and integrations
Experience with legacy / Strategic Systems interfaces and updates

For this exciting opportunity, we are looking for a Systems Specialist to join our field operations team within the Customer Service Delivery (CSD) unit. Part of Telstra Operations, the Customer Service Delivery team (CSD) provides service and solutions for Telstra's customers; we install, repair and maintain the products, services and networks that connect Australia to the people and things important to them.
Reporting into the Workflow Innovation Manager, you will act as the subject matter expert and provide support to the CSD field technicians. This role is crucial to supporting the deployment of work to the CSD Field workforce and meeting Telstra customer's appointments and commitments.
As the Systems Specialist you will:
Provide an expertise and technical support for Toolkit and other applications supported by Systems Solutions, such as Connect.
Liaise with IT vendors, TSO and ITS to ensure any Toolkit issues and errors are rectified in a timely manner
Support initiatives and enhancements to Systems team's applications ensuring minimal disruption to operational users.
Conduct PVT/UAT testing for various system updates/changes
Look for efficiencies within current processes and systems to improve customer, workforce and business outcomes.
Provide communications regarding Toolkit outages and impacts to all relevant stakeholders/users
Investigate and raise system issues/trends with relevant IT vendors and IT business for restoration
Build effective relationships with the customer and stakeholder groups to allow timely delivery of customer services.
We are looking for candidates with the below qualifications and experience:
We would expect individuals to operate independently and manage programs/projects of work, driving business improvements.
Exposure to CSD Field environment and processes.
Bachelor Degree in a relevant field (IT) would be highly regarded
Knowledge of Toolkit / Connect interfaces and upgrades and DB Systems understanding and integration (mandatory)
Familiarity with mobility and Mobile Phone / Tablet deployment and systems interfaces and integrations
Experience with legacy / Strategic Systems interfaces and updates
Previous demonstrated experience in the ability to be flexible and adaptive to new Cloud Based technology and solutions

我申请过两轮Graduate Program, 但两次的申请结果大相径庭。除了修改简历的一定功劳之外,还有一个原因: 内推。
第二轮申请的三家GP, 有两家都是朋友帮我从内部推荐的,而不是直接网上申请。这样至少在第一阶段避开了很多不必要的厮杀,有机会和人面对面交流,向面试官展示你的特长和优点。 但各位毕业生,你们也许会问,我们上哪找那些公司内部的人帮我们推荐呢?我们刚毕业,人生地不熟。但世上无难事,只怕有心人。只要你够积极,有主动交流的意识,尽可能的push自己参加各种professional event,人际关系是可以靠自己慢慢建立的。虽然看上去我走了捷径,找朋友帮我投简历,通常第二天就接到面试通知。但在此之前,为了多认识朋友,建立工作上的关系网,找到能帮我转递简历的朋友,足足花了我三个月的时间。
需要说明的是,个人认为,虽然请朋友帮你递简历是毕业生现阶段认识朋友,拓展交际圈的主要目的。但请记住,你同样也可以帮助他们。人都是互相的。关系网是需要长久维持的。我们的生活,需要别人帮助,也可以帮助别人。

刚毕业的时候,急于工作,什么都投。软件,硬件,支持,开发。可想而知,效果很差。澳大利亚就业市场特别强调"fit"。这种fit是双方的。而对于毕业生来说,因为没有工作经验,选择面太广,往往容易迷失在铺天盖地的广告中。以个人经验来看,我建议各位毕业生花点时间剖析自己的长处,扬长避短。申请自己最有竞争力的职位,是找到满意工作的前提之一。这点在申请Graduate Program的时候也很重要。因为大公司的毕业生项目往往有很多职位,而“为何选择该职位”也是必问的经典问题之一。如果在申请中,你能真正明确自己的选择,以及选择的理由和优势,我想你已经比随波逐流的其他申请人领先一步了。
在申请这次Graduate Program之前,我花了两三个月,看了很多书,也经过一些面试的反馈和自己的反思,发现最适合自己的不是纯技术职位,那不是我所擅长的。相反我对IT咨询很感兴趣,并且有一定的商科和技术背景,一点工作经验,和十二分的热情。在我确定自己的定位之后,去参加的面试都是非常positive的。一些面试官甚至在面试快结束时直接告诉我:恭喜你,you will fit very well in consulting。我觉得这是对我最大的肯定。我知道其实我的面试表现并不完美,仍有很多需要改进的地方。但几乎每个面试官都给了我肯定的评价。因为,澳洲求职的一大特色就是候选人和职位的match。你不需要是最完美的那个人,但一定要是最“匹配”的候选人。
3. Professional Event
关于Professional event,我强烈推荐各位同胞参加。这是认识同行的好机会,不论在找工作阶段还是已经开始工作了。就IT行业来讲,有很多协会可以参加,还有各种conference,都是拓展视野的好机会。不过对毕业生来讲,有一定的经济负担。但找工作本来就是一项花费很高的浩大工程。投资在职业生涯上,我觉得还是值得的。
